Breaking one's fast deliberately during Ramadan

A: According to the correct scholarly opinion, anyone who breaks their fast intentionally on a day in Ramadan without a Shar`y (Islamically lawful) excuse should repent to Allah (Exalted be He) and make up for this day. Fasting for sixty days is concerned with the Kaffarah for having sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan, particularly (Part No. 9; Page No. 191) that there is a Sahih (authentic) Hadith reported in this regard. As for breaking one's fast without having sexual intercourse, there is no evidence that Kaffarah is obligatory in this case, as far as we know.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
