Zakah on the money a wife lent to her husband while it is still payable by him
A: Your wife must pay Zakah for this debt she lent you after the passing of a Hawl (one lunar year calculated from the time a property reaches the minimum amount upon which Zakah is due), while it is in your possession, if you are able to pay it back. If you are unable to pay and cannot be sure whether you will or not, then she is to pay Zakah of one year after she receives the money.May Allah grant us success.
