Zakah on firewood and grass

A: There is no Zakah due on firewood, grass and bamboo, whether they grow on their own or are planted. However, if they are used in trade after being harvested, Zakah is due on them like any other commercial commodities if their value reaches the Nisab and a Hawl passes since it was first used in trade. In this case, a quarter of a tithe is due on its value. If it is also sold for a purpose other than trade and a Hawl passes while its value maintains the Nisab, Zakah is due.May Allah grant us success.
