Whether Al-Sunan Al-Rawatib should be offered when combining Salahs

Q 3: In the case of combining Maghrib (Sunset) Prayer and `Isha' (Night) Prayer or Zhuhr (noon) Prayer and `Asr (afternoon) Prayer; should the two (Sunnah) Rak`ahs which are performed after Maghrib or Zhuhr be overlooked as well as their Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)? What is the meaning of the two Rak`ahs of Al-Sunan Al-Rawatib (supererogatory acts that were stressed and regularly performed by the Prophet)? A: When a person combines Maghrib and `Isha' at times other than traveling, he should offer Al-Sunan Al-Rawatib of Maghrib and `Isha after `Isha'. If a person combines between Zhuhr and `Asr in advance or delayed, he should not offer Salah after them because the time of prohibition comes after `Asr. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no prayer after the `Asr (Afternoon) Prayer As for Dhikr, it is enough to say only the Dhikr of the second Salah, as for the first Salah, it is an act of Sunnah whose time has elapsed.
