Whether abandoning complete veil is a sin or a major sin

Q 2: A woman continues to perform Salah (prayer) and observe Sawm (fasting) but she exposes her adornment; is it considered a grave sin or a minor one?


A: The woman who is obedient in performing Salah, Sawm and suchlike, will be rewarded for that but she will be punished for applying make up and exposing her adornment to men. Moreover, this is considered one of the major sins. If she dies and does not repent, her retribution will be with Allah (Exalted be He) to punish or to forgive her. (Part No. 17; Page No. 217) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
