What is the ruling on wearing a leather belt

Q: Why do pilgrims wear the special Hajj outfit?

A: Allah (Exalted be He) commanded us through His revelation to His Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), to wear the Izar (garment worn below the waist) and Rida' (upper garment) during Hajj and `Umrah for a reason that is known to Him. Therefore, we must obey in the hope of earning a reward; whether we know the reason or not. Scholars have said that it is a reminder to the people of the Day when they will be raised and gathered together; the Day of Resurrection, and to make the pilgrim feel humble and that rich and poor are equal. We ask Allah (Exalted be He) to give us all strength and to help us remain steadfast in adhering to the truth until we meet Him.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
