Wearing high heels and applying henna during menstruation
Q 3: What is the ruling on
women wearing high heels and applying henna during menstruation?
A:
It is not permissible for women to wear high heels, for it makes them more likely to fall down. Every one is ordered from the Shari`ah perspective to avoid dangers in the general statement of Allah,
...and do not throw yourselves into destruction
and His Statement,
And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allâh is Most Merciful to you.
Furthermore, it creates the appearance that the woman is taller and shapelier than they actually are. This is considered deception and revealing of the adornment which believing women are forbidden to display. (Part No. 17; Page No. 124) Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) states,
...and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islâm)
As for women using Henna during menstruation, there is nothing wrong in this as in the case of Tuhr (purity after menstruation and postpartum ). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, his family and Companions.
