Ways of strengthening Iman

Q: What are the means of strengthening Muslims' Iman (Faith)? May Allah reward you with the best.

A: Some of the means through which you can strengthen your Iman and deepen your Yaqin (certainty), are your decisive belief in the six pillars of Iman in addition to your deeds which deepen your Iman. The pillars of Iman are: The belief in Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He), His angels, His Messengers, His Books, in the Last Day and in the Divine Decree whether good or bad.Branches of Iman also include: The declaration that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, performing Salah (Prayer), observing Sawm (Fast), giving Zakah (obligatory charity), performing Hajj, Jihad in the cause of Allah, filial obedience, being charitable to relatives, orphans, poor people, passers-by, neighbors, workers and servants, propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, keeping patience in all your matters, being modest and deserting pride, guarding the tongue and chastity (i.e. private parts) from illegal acts, and keeping Amanah (honesty, trust, and obedience) and promises.., etc. It is authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no God but Allah, and the humblest of which is the removal of what is harmful from the road. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
