Visit places where evil is widespread

Q 1: People who are living in Egypt go to the city of Alexandria to spend the summer there where thousands of virtually naked women and men mix freely on beaches. (Part No. 12; Page No. 362) As a bearded man, I would like to ask if it is permissible for me to go there and sit by the sea or not?

A: If the situation is as described, it is not permissible for a Muslim to go to these places, for fear of Fitnah (temptation) unless he is one of those who are able and empowered to denounce the evil things that are taking place there. Moreover, he should be able to enjoin right and forbid evil.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
