Urinating before Ghusl is not necessary for the validity of Ghusl
Q:
Someone told me if a Muslim has conjugal intercourse, it is obligatory that he should urinate before performing Ghusl (ritual bath);
otherwise he will remain Junub (in a state of major ritual impurity). This is because there will still be some Maniy (spermatic fluid) in his penis that can only be removed by urination. What is your opinion on this?
A: All praise be to Allah Alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, and his family and Companions.The Ghusl is valid without the urination. However, if a man urinates after performing Ghusl and some Maniy comes out along with the urine or alone, but without desire, it is not required to perform Ghusl again. It is sufficient just to perform Istinja’ (cleansing the private parts with water after urination or defecation) and the Islamically prescribed Wudu’ (ablution).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
