Treating the mother kindly and nicely and addressing her in a good manner


A: First, it is Wajib (obligatory) for you that you become kind and dutiful to your mother, talk to her sweetly and nicely, and not do any wrong to her. Second, if your wife performs her religious duties and has a good character, it will not be Wajib on you to divorce her. Rather, it will be Wajib on you to manage your social life wisely. You may also live in an independent neighboring flat for example. (Part No. 25; Page No. 209) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
