Q 1:
I bought some dates
at the end of the month of Ramadan which I intended to spend in charity for the sake of Allah on the last Friday of the month. However, I could not do so as this Friday turned out to be the day of `Eid-ul-Fitr (the Festival of Breaking the Fast). Therefore, I paid the dates as Zakat-ul-Fitr (obligatory charity paid before the Festival of Breaking the Fast) on behalf of myself and of my family before the `Eid Salah (prayer). However, there remains a part which I also spent in charity at once. Please, inform me whether such a behavior of mine is permissible.
A:
It is unobjectionable to pay a part of it as Zakatul-Fitr. However, the other part you spent is considered an absolute charity.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
