Q: My maternal grandmother gave birth from my grandfather to no children but my mother. She was then divorced from my grandfather to marry another man from whom she gave birth to three
children,
who died. She lived with her husband only a few months then died after her children had died. Thereafter, the man married my brother's ex-wife who gave birth from him to two daughters and a son, who are old now - the son is about 30 years old. My question is: Are these two (Part No. 17; Page No. 378) daughters and the son, considered brothers of my mother? Give me a Fatwa (legal opinion issued by a qualified Muslim scholar), may Allah reward you. May Allah's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you.
A:
There is no tie of brotherhood between them and your mother as they are the children of a wife other than your grandmother and a husband other than your grandfather. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
