The banks take a commission in return for cashing an employee's salary

Q: What is the ruling on that banks take a commission of 1.99-2 % in return for cashing an employee's salary?

A: This is not permissible and is considered Riba (usury/interest), because it is selling a sum of money for a larger sum of money. Therefore, it is obligatory to abandon these prohibited transactions to avoid sinning and to safeguard one's earnings from being Haram (prohibited).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
