Taking Janabah Ghusl on Friday

Q 1: If a person becomes Junub (in a state of post-sexual ritual impurity) on Friday and so performs Janabah Ghusl (full ritual bath to cleanse of sexual discharge), should he perform the Ghusl for Friday Prayer as well? If one must perform Ghusl twice, should he do it with one or two intentions or should he combine the two? Should there be an interval between the two Ghusls, that is, should one dry himself off after the first Ghusl and then begin the second Ghusl?

A: Janabah Ghusl suffices for Ghusl for Friday Prayer, because the purpose of Ghusl for Friday Prayer is to cleanse and remove any odors from the body, which is accomplished through Janabah Ghusl. However, it is permissible to combine two intentions, performing both Janabah Ghusl and Ghusl for Friday Prayer, for greater reward. (Part No. 4; Page No. 154) May Allah grant us success.
