Should shaving in Hajj and `Umrah be done by a razor or an electric shaver?

Q: Please explain the right way of shaving in Hajj and `Umrah (lesser Pilgrimage). Should it (Part No. 10; Page No. 202

A: The point is to shave or shorten the hair regardless of the type of instrument used. It should be noted that shaving is better, i.e., to remove the hair with a razor and the like. It was authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated three times for forgiveness and mercy of those who shave their hair and only once for those who merely shorten their hair.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
