Sexual intercourse with a newly delivered wife

Q 5: when is it permissible for a husband to have sexual intercourse with his menstruating or newly-delivered wife?

A: It is impermissible to have sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman or a woman in her postpartum period unless the menstrual blood or postpartum blood stops and she performs Ghusl (ritual bath). This is because Allah (Exalted be He) says: ...therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they are purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allâh has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their vagina). May Allah grant us success.
