Q: A group of people bought a piece of land for trade. They have kept it for a whole lunar year, are they obliged to pay Zakah (obligatory charity) on it every year or just for one year when selling it?
A: If the case is so, then this land is considered as other trade goods upon which Zakah is due by the passing of a whole lunar year.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
