A: All praise is due to Allah Alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family and Companions. These
are just Waswasah (insinuating or obsessive thoughts) which Satan instigates to spoil the acts of worship done by a Muslim. The Muslim should not pay any attention to them and should not stop Salah or perform Wudu’ again unless he hears a sound or detects an odor. This is based on what was related
by Imam
Muslim on the authority of
Abu Hurayrah
(may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“If any one of you feels something in his stomach, and he is not sure whether anything came out or not, let him not leave the Masjid (mosque) unless he hears a sound or detects an odor.”
The basic principle we find in the Hadith is that we must be certain that the minor ritual impurity occurred. Where the person has a minimum of doubt, their purity remains valid because what is certain is not overruled by what is doubtful.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
