Ruling on someone who finds money in a non-Muslim country

Q 14: What is the ruling on someone who finds money in a non-Muslim country?

A: If someone finds money in a non-Muslim country that is at war with Muslims, they can possess it and it is not obligatory on them to announce it, unless not doing so would harm them. But if it is found in a non-Muslim country that is not at war with Muslims, it has to be announced in the same way as a found lost item in a Muslim country is announced. May Allah grant us success.
