Ruling on saying that without the Prophet, Arabs would be living in ignorance
Q 1: Is it correct to say:
(If the Prophet (Part No. 1; Page No. 11) (peace be upon him) had not been there, Arabs would have been in continuous Jahiliyyah 'pre-Islamic ignorance')?
A:
The correct phrase to be said in this regard is: "If Allah did not guide Arabs by sending the Prophet (peace be upon him)..." or "If Allah did not send the Prophet (peace be upon him)..." This is because Muslims have to avoid words that may contradict their `Aqidah (creed) in any way.
