Q 14:
I read the Qur’an but I cannot memorize it,
do I still get rewarded for it?
A:
Whoever reads the Qur’an, reflects upon its meanings, and acts in accordance to it, is rewarded even if they do not memorize it. It is narrated in the Hadith on the authority of
`Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
The one who is proficient in the Qur’an (i.e. Masterfully recites and perfectly memorizes it) will be with the noble, dutiful scribes (angels); and the one who recites the Qur’an and falters in it, and recites it with difficulty, will have a double reward.
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
