Reciting Surahs out of order

Q: A person led the people in the ‘Isha’ (Night) Prayer and recited, after Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-Masad in the first Rak‘ah (unit of Prayer), and Surah Al-Fil in the second Rak‘ah. What is the ruling on this? May Allah reward you the best. (Part No. 4; Page No. 17) I heard from some religious instructors that it is not permissible to recite the Surahs out of their order in the Mus-haf (copy of the Qur’an).

A: There is no harm in this. However, it is much better to observe the order of the Mus-haf in Salah, that is, to recite a Surah in the second Rak‘ah that sequentially comes after the Surah recited in the first Rak‘ah.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
