Prohibition of taking photos of beings with souls and earning a living from them

Q 1: My father (may Allah guide him) makes his living by taking photographs. Is the money earned from this job Haram (prohibited) or Halal (lawful). And what is meant by the Hadith: Allah curses Al-Musawwirin (painters, drawers, sculptors, and subsequently photographers)?

A: Picturing animate beings is Haram as well as earning a living from it. If the money earned from taking photos is Haram, then making use of it is also Haram. However, if it is mixed with other money (Part No. 1; Page No. 711) and it is difficult to separate them, there is no harm in making use of it according to the preponderant opinion of scholars.May Allah grant us success.
