Paying Zakah to one who wishes to get married
Q 2: Is it permissible to pay Zakah to one who wishes to get married noting that this person is rich?
A2: If the case is as you mentioned, it is not permissible to give Zakah (obligatory charity) because actually as you explained, he does not belong to the eight Zakah recipient categories mentioned in Allah's (Exalted be He) statement: As-Sadaqât (here it means Zakât) are only for the Fuqarâ’ (poor), and the Masâkin (needy) (Surah Al-Tawbah 9:60).May Allah grant us success.
