Paying Zakah for charity institutions

A: It is not permissible to pay Zakah to the mentioned institution or any other humanitarian institution, because the categories of Zakah recipients are clearly defined by Allah (Exalted be He) in the following Ayah (Qur'anic verse): As-Sadaqât (here it means Zakât) are only for the Fuqarâ’ (poor), and the Masâkin (needy) to the end of the Ayah. This limitation implies that it is not permissible to pay (Part No. 8; Page No. 402) the money of Zakah to any recipient other than those mentioned in the Ayah.May Allah grant us success.
