Q: I am a public servant who is
assigned to work overtime beyond the regular working hours. However, on some days I do not go to my place of work and I still receive the overtime payment. (Part No. 23; Page No. 413) What is the ruling on this?
When there is no need for me to attend some days, must I go to work? It should be noted that the overtime payment is the same as that of a regular day.
A:
You must go to work even if there are no tasks assigned to you, or else you may request a day off.
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
