Men assuming the roles of women

Q 4: Men assume the roles of women as broadcast on (Part No. 26; Page No. 265) the Saudi TV and officials of the media know it. What do you think of this, dear shaykh?

A: This is not permissible because: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the men who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of women and the women who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of men. This act of the media and other acts that are against the Shari`ah have been disapproved of and we pray to Allah for us and for those in charge of the media to guide us to what is right. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
