Meaning of Ikhtisar

Q 2: What is the meaning of Ikhtisar, prohibited in the Hadith related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim where "The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to prohibit Ikhtisar in Salah (Prayer) ?

A: The meaning of Ikhtisar or Takhassur in Salah is putting one's hands around one's waist. The Jumhur (dominant majority of scholars) agreed that this act is Makruh (disliked) in Salah.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
