Making Istikharah before the engagement

A: Istikharah is permissible before and after seeing the suitor. If you feel happy about the matter for which you ask Allah's guidance whether you proceed or abandon it, this is a sign indicating that this matter is good. If on the other hand you feel uneasy and your heart is turned away from that matter, then it is not good and should be abandoned. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
