Leaving the Masjid immediately after Taslim

Q 3: Is it permissible to leave the Masjid (mosque) immediately after Taslim (salutation of peace ending the Prayer) before the Imam (the one who leads congregational Prayer) does so or leaves his place?

A: It is preferred that the Ma’mum (a person being led by an Imam in Prayer) does not leave the Masjid after Taslim until they make Istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah) three times, then say: “Allahumma anta al-salam wa minka al-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram (O Allah, You are Al-Salam [the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies), and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor).” Then the Ma’mum should recite the other lawful Adhkar (invocations and remembrances said at certain times on a regular basis).May Allah grant us success.
