Kissing a Muslim brother on the face

Q 6: What is the ruling on Muslims kissing each other's faces? Are there narrations from the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet) in this regard?

A: It is preferable to shake hands in the regular manner unless a person has just come from travel, then embracing is permissible. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "When the Sahabah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) met each other, they used to shake hands; and when they came from travel, they would embrace each other." (Related by Al-Tabarany with a good Sanad (chain of narrators) (Part No. 24; Page No. 128) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
