Keeping pictures even if not hung on walls
A: It is impermissible to keep pictures even if not hung on walls or kept in other places unless they are necessary for an identification card, passport, money or for other essential reasons. This is because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to `Aly (may Allah be pleased with him): Do not leave a picture without obliterating it .May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
