Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to perform Tawaf?

Q 1: Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to perform Tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka`bah)?

A 1: It is impermissible for a menstruating woman to perform Tawaf until she is purified from the menses and performs the after-menstruation Ghusl (full ritual bath). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to `Aishah when she was menstruating: Do not perform circumambulation of Al-Bayt (the House: another name for the Ka`bah), until you are purified (of the menses). (Part No. 10; Page No. 250) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
