Q 1:
Can a widow who is over seventy years of age seek another marriage?
A:
It is permissible for a widow to marry even if she is seventy years or older. This is because marriage is principally lawful unless there is a reason that may change this principal ruling. Since there is no Islamic text from the Qur’an or the Sunnah or Ijma` (consensus of scholars) that forbids this practice, a widow can get married provided that she finishes her `Iddah (woman's prescribed waiting period after widowhood) first. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
