Inserting the finger into the anus to clean fecal matter

Q 2: What is the ruling on inserting one's finger into the anus to clean it when performing Istinja' (cleansing the private parts with water after urination or defecation)?

A: It is not permissible to insert the finger into the anus to clean it. This is a forbidden extreme and one should perform Istinja' cleaning the external private parts only.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
