Hastening to testify before being killed

Q 4: In his Mukhtasar (abridged version) of Sahih Muslim, His Authority Al-Hafizh Al-Mundhiry (may Allah be merciful to him) recorded [Hadith no. (1059), p.281] on the authority of Zayd ibn Khalid Al-Juhany that the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, Shall I not tell you of the best of witnesses? The one who brings his testimony before it is asked for. How do we reconcile this Hadith with the other one that reads: A people will come after you who will bear witness without being asked to do so. Related by Al-Bukhari. This Hadith is also narrated in Sahih Muslim, Sunan Al-Tirmidhy, Sunan Ibn Majah, Musnad Ahmad, and Muwatta' Malik as referred to in the book of "Miftah Kunuz Al-Sunnah".

A: Such Hadiths and others which focus on dispraising hastening to present Shahadah (testimony) without being asked and those who take the shahadah lightly, address those who are dishonest and heedless. This might be due to their weak religious knowledge and not fearing Allah. As for the Hadith which praises those who present Shahadah before they are asked, it refers to those upon whom it is obligatory to give Shahadah to prove the truth and vindicate it, because there is no other witness.
