Giving charity on behalf of parents
A: It is permissible to give meat, food, etc., in charity on behalf of your deceased parents and the reward will hopefully reach them. It is reported from Sa`d (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) whether he may give charity on behalf of his deceased mother. The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered him to do so. (Related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions!
