Fulfilling a vow to give away money made while abandoning Salah

A: You should fulfill this vow by donating the money you promised to pay even if you were not maintaining your prayer at that time. `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) vowed to observe I`tikaf during Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic time of ignorance) and the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered him to fulfill it. However, you should fear Allah in your deeds, and maintain the five obligatory prayers on time in congregation, for the person who abandons prayers is a Kafir (disbeliever).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
