Q 1: Is it obligatory for a man when performing Ghusl (full ritual bath) after a wet dream to do it in order, from head to toe, or is it enough to pour water over the entire body? Is rubbing the body necessary?
(Part No. 4; Page No. 143
A:
It is better when performing Janabah Ghusl (full ritual bath to cleanse of sexual discharge) due to a wet dream, or otherwise, to perform Istinja' (washing the private parts with water after urination or defecation) first, and then to perform Wudu', wash and pour water over one's head, and then pour water over the rest of the body three times. Pouring water over the entire body once is obligatory. If one has the intention to perform Ghusl and Wudu' together and makes sure that the water reaches every part of the body, it is sufficient; and Wudu' is thus incorporated into Ghusl.
