Person most entitled to be an Imam

A: The person most entitled to Imamah (leading congregational Salah) is: the most learned reciter of the Book of Allah, a person who knows how to perform Salah perfectly, the most learned of the Sunnah, whoever migrated first and then the eldest. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The one who is most versed in Allah's Book should act as an Imam for the people, but if they are equally versed in reciting it, then the one who is the most knowledgeable in Sunnah... .May Allah grant us success.
