Marrying the paternal cousin of the father
Q: I am a young man and I want to marry my father's paternal cousin. Her father is my grandfather's brother. Is it permissible to marry her? Please advise me.
A: If the situation is as you mentioned, it is permissible for you to marry her, as there is no Shar‘y (Islamic legal) impediment to this marriage, such as being related by blood, breastfeeding, marriage, etc. The basic ruling is for permissibility. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, his family, and Companions.
