Is it permissible for a person

Q 4: Is it Halal (lawful) or Haram (prohibited) for teachers to dictate (Part No. 12; Page No. 203) the answers of an exam to the students? Is this considered cheating? What is the evidence on this? What are the forms of cheating that are prohibited in Islam?

A: Dictating the answers to students in an exam is considered a form of cheating and deception. It leads to moral corruption and harms the cultural level of the Ummah (nation). It also leads to a decline in the level of education and irresponsibility. It is Haram like all other forms of cheating, according to the general Hadith which states, Whoever deceives us is not one of us (i.e. a true Muslim). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
