During Wudu’, fearing the droplets that have sprayed out of the toilet onto the floor
Q 2: There is a committed and religious girl who fulfills the obligations of Islam well, as we have noticed from her, In sha'a-Allah (if Allah wills). However, whenever this girl
goes to the bathroom to perform Istinja' (cleansing the private parts with water after urination or defecation) or Wudu' (ablution), she says that she feels that water that usually falls on the bathroom floor may splash on her.
She says that it is impossible to believe it is pure water. It is worth mentioning that she washes the bathroom floor before using it and she repeats Istinja' and Wudu' many times. Sometimes, she cries for fear that she has not purified herself properly. Once, some people watched her making Wudu' and told her that her Wudu' was valid, but she said that no one can guarantee that impure water does not splash on her. The problem became bigger until her body became weak. The same case is happening also during her Salah (Prayer) where she doubts the number of Rak`ahs (units of Prayer) or fears that anything may occur that affects the validity of her Salah. Could you kindly advise us in this regard?
A:
What is happening to this girl is due to Waswasah (insinuating thoughts from Satan). She must ignore it and seek refuge in Allah from Satan, for he will not harm her, In sha'a-Allah. (Part No. 4; Page No. 96) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
