Does the Hijab consist of one or two pieces?
Q 5: What are the required conditions for Hijab (veil)? Is it obligatory for a woman to wear a garment that consists of one part? Will it be a Bid`ah (innovation in religion) if she wears a two-piece garment? Please advise.
A: It is permissible for women to wear garments consisting of one or two pieces as long as they cover the whole body according to what is ordained by Shari`ah (Islamic law). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
