Combining Salahs without a valid excuse

Q 3: In Yemen people are used to praying `Asr (afternoon) at the prescribed time of Zhuhr (Noon) Prayer. Some city scholars say that this is permissible, especially scholars of Dhimar city. What is the ruling on this?

A: It is not permissible to pray Zhuhr at the prescribed time of `Asr. A Muslim has to offer each Prayer at its appointed time as long as they are healthy and not on a journey. It is only permissible to combine between prayers if they are sick or on a journey. Authentic Hadiths have been narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) to that effect.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
