Q 11: Is civil defense counted as Jihad (fighting/striving in the cause of Allah)?

A : Any work that benefits Muslims or deflects a harm away from them is highly rewardable provided that its doer has a good intention and performs it for the sake of Allah. We hope that it is regarded as Murabatah (guarding the Muslim frontiers in the cause of Allah). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
