Autopsy for determining the causes of death

Q 1: There are cases in which the cause of death is scientifically unknown or uncertain. The medical examiner needs to know the effective cause, which requires taking a specimen from the body of the person who died from an unknown cause through a thin pointed hypodermic needle. To what extent is this Islamically lawful, knowing that the size of such a needle is basically the same as that of a regular needle and does not cause (Part No. 25; Page No. 96) any abrasions or disfigurement to the body of the deceased?

A: If it is essential or there is a need to know the cause of death which can only be known by taking a specimen as described above, it is Islamically permissible to do so as the likely benefit outweighs any harm that could occur to the deceased person.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
