Authorizing a man to drive female students

Q: The parents of female students who study in Al-Dammam three hundred kilometers away from Al-Khafjy request authorization to permit them to commute to the university in Al-Dammam and back to Al-Khafjy in a group accompanied by a person and his wife, daughter, sister or any of his Mahrams (spouse or any unmarriageable relative). The wording of the authorization will be as follows: (I delegate so and so and his daughter such and such to travel with my daughter to Al-Dammam and bring her back with her colleagues..) What is Your Honor's opinion on women or female students traveling in groups along with one of the Mahrams of the driver? Moreover, what is your opinion on the permissibility of receiving a female-servant at an airport and traveling with her to her employer? Please benefit us, may Allah reward you.

A: The described manner of travel is impermissible, for there is no Mahram. Also, this authorization (Part No. 17; Page No. 307) is invalid and is of no benefit as it is impermissible for a woman to travel without a Mahram. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
