Attend parties

Q 4: I am a university student and I live in the same room with some other students. I do not have the right to move to another room so I have to stay with them. My roommates say that they have consumed beer. Is there any harm in sitting, eating and speaking with them despite what they do? Thanks.

A: If it is proved that they drink intoxicants, you have to leave the room as much as you can, if they do not accept your advice. If you are unable to leave the room, you have to avoid sitting, speaking and eating with them unless there is a necessity; otherwise, you will be committing a sin.May Allah grant us success.
